Include the oils, percentages, lye type and the numbers you see, so I can run the same recipe.

Common questions

01

Checking the math

On any recipe, tap Show the math. You see each oil's weight times its NaOH or KOH factor, the total, the superfat step, the purity step and the water. Every oil value names the published source it came from.

02

Using your supplier's SAP

Tap the oil's name in a recipe, then Edit SAP for this recipe, and enter the value from your supplier's certificate of analysis. Superfat marks it as your value and uses it in the math in place of the published one.

03

Water (three ways)

Set water as a percentage of oils, as a lye concentration, or as a water to lye ratio. Show the math lists all three for the same recipe, so you can compare with a recipe written the other way.

04

Dual lye and purity

In Lye settings, choose NaOH, KOH or dual and set the KOH share. Enter the purity printed on your container. Superfat divides the pure amount by the purity and shows that step.

05

Fragrance limits

Enter the maximum for your product category from your supplier's certificate. Superfat compares your amount against the finished, cured bar and turns it red when it goes over.

06

Batches and cure remindersPro

At the end of soap day, tap Save as batch. Superfat keeps the recipe as made, the weights you actually used and a lot number, counts down the cure and reminds you on the morning the batch is ready.

07

Printing

Open a recipe and tap Print (Pro). Choose US Letter or A4, then print with AirPrint or share the PDF. The sheet includes the amounts, the math and the lye safety line. Copy as text is free.

Restore your purchase

Pro is tied to your Apple Account, and Family Sharing is on. On a new iPhone or iPad, open Settings in Superfat and tap Restore Purchases. There is no account to sign in to.

Lye safety

Lye causes severe burns. Wear goggles and gloves, add lye to water, never water to lye, and keep children and pets out of the room.
